2011-08-06 - Royal Gorge
We spent the morning of Saturday, Aug. 6, at Canon City and experiencing the Royal Gorge. There is a two-hour railroad trip from Canon City into the gorge and return which we took in the morning. We had lunch at the Diner in Canon City, and then drove to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. The bridge, handing 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River, is the world's highest suspension bridge. It was built in 1929. The bridge site today has added family attractions.
These photos are a combination of shots from the train ride and from the bridge site.
